What is steam cleaning?

Steam cleaning involves the use of pressurized steam to open up surface pores or soften fabrics and loosen the dirt. The steam cleaner (or steamer) is filled with water that is heated to 316°F or 160°C, which creates pressurized steam that blasts away dirt. A microfiber cloth is then used to collect the dirt released.

The steam pressure from the Dupray Steamer (which we use) can reach up to 72.5 psi / 5-bar, allowing it to quickly blast through a wide range of tasks like grout cleaning, tile restoration, stubborn stain removal, and terminating germs, bacteria, viruses, mold, bed bugs, and dust mites. Lower pressures help kill dust mites and bedbugs instead of just pushing them deeper into your mattress and bedding. Higher pressures, on the other hand, work better for degreasing and grout line removal without damaging the surfaces it is used on.

Steam cleaning is also non-chemical, environmentally friendly, and amazingly efficient because it doesn’t require any detergents, only water which is converted to pressurized steam. Moreover, the steam produced for cleaning evaporates quickly, unlike water making it perfect for cleaning upholstery, mattresses, curtains, and carpets.

When should you steam clean?

We recommend steam cleaning once or twice a year. It will help you get rid of allergens, dust mites, and maintain a clean and safe environment. We usually advise our clients to steam clean only after deep cleaning their apartment or house. However, if your apartment is in basic condition (i.e., cleaned every week or every other week), you can book our steam cleaning services, and our team will be happy to help.
